Red Bull Hike&Ride 2005:
24-27 February (possibly extended till 28 February)

Seven teams, each consisting of two snow-savvy riders from the snowboard, ski or telemark scene, have exactly 72 hours to create their own film. Script, camera, directing, editing, stunts, music and jokes – it’s all up to the riders.

And who is going to be a part of it? Six international professional riders are selected by the Hike&Ride organisers. These six then each choose their own buddy for the 72-hour film adventure. But you can also participate! One public team also gets the opportunity to ride in the same contest. Don’t miss this chance—apply for the public contest!

The Red Bull Hike is not about the best run or the best jump—it’s about the best four minutes. Somewhere in the Swiss Alps the riders have 48 hours to shoot their film. Then they go to the editing studio in Zurich, where they have exactly 24 hours to cut their film material and produce a 4-minute clip. And afterwards? They go directly to the premiere party. The final winner of the film prize is not decided by an undiscerning film critic, but rather decided by the riders among themselves. And where do they go to hike and ride? This remains a secret until 24 hours before the start of the contest... But at least this much can be revealed. It’s there where the sun is certain to be smiling and the most snow can be found between 24 February and 3 March.
